What I think is naive is to continue with the same process and expect a different outcome. I think the overwhelming majority of people would consider that money has been wasted in the past in attempting to improve the lot of indigenous people. I think it is generally accepted this has been because the decision makers have not fully understood the problems and although they may have been well-intentioned their proposals have failed. There is no direct evidence that what was proposed would have been more successful although the Maranguka initiative in Bourke does appear to have reduced crime and made cost savings in the administration of justice. I am unaware of the "major risks inherent in the Voice proposal". As a lawyer I don't see any such risks and what I have seen claimed as risks are specious and designed to confuse voters. That has certainly been successful. Anyway, hopefully, WHC can put shareholder interests first and we can achieve a good outcome.
