Indigenous people already have the same rights and privileges as any other group of citizens.
They can already vote for representatives, and run for Parliament, and have already been successful, currently with 11 indigenous federal members, including government ministers.
Nobody is preventing them from letting their opinions known to government, and they have been getting disproportional attention for decades.
