The government always listens and ignores. This was a peace-meal deal to appease 3% of the population. The coalition asked what do you want? They didn't like the answer. Labor decided to stop kicking the can down the road but misjudged the will of the Australian people. No-one is scared; just rationally opposed to a racial element being inserted back into the constitution. Future generations will thank the voters of 2023.
