The only problem with qantas which I have, is their frequent flyer scheme and how they keep changing the terms of purchases using points. It would be interesting to chart the cost of seats using points, versus using cash, over the past few years. To try and get an upgrade to business class for an o/s flight for example, (e.g. sydney to frankfurt), you firstly have to pay about an extra $800 just to even quality for the CHANCE of an upgrade. Then hopefully if there are business class seats available at the time of check-in, you can use your points.
