this would be my reason:
sellers put their sell orders in at 10.5.
buyers buys it.
seller pust a buy in at 9.9 waiting for a buy again.
9.9 o 10.5 is the quickest gain to make in which is only 3 positions away.
if you buy in at 9.1 you would have to wait till 9.7 to make the same gain in $$$ terms, and that is 6 places away.
so selling at 10.5 and buying at 9.9 "looks" quicker in terms of price retracements
