Agree, any new start up will have employment problems. But the industry is now a beehive of activity with workers able to 'try before they buy' with mines all over Oz now....they can go for bigger bucks in more remote areas or stick to existing workplaces.The jobs will get filled, but all mines will struggle for quality miners and the more specialised employees. Rich mining areas such as the Broken Hill region wont pose a problem in my view, due to the fact that its in their blood to mine and its part of the community physche.
