    i may have misunderstood - apparently I am prone to that

    however happiness for me is not fleeting. It is a continual state other than the very occasional blip. And it is distinctly different from contentment which is more like a background state of being. I can distinguish them physically and thus most likely in a chemistry sense. Happy is not I am happy with … it is “I am”. (Though there is also happy with ). I experience both pretty much on a daily basis and there are techniques one can use to increase that experience.     maybe just everyone is different. I just think it’s pointless to suggest someone is wrong when someone described themselves in a particular way. And certainly your description of happiness may well be how you see it but does it matter so much to think you are right and tell someone else - particularly on this that they are wrong / and particularly when you don’t really know them. I’d say that is about knowing what graciousness is as well. And being gracious can help with happiness as can gratitude
