Lets get real and lay out a clear and obvious fact,

God was/is Word.
What exactly is the KEY subject, Heb 1,2,3, God's word being expressed to/in others, and they in turn express them to others.

2 - Hath in these last days spoken unto us IN his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;
Lets put the breaks on hear and get some more clarity of, "in his Son"
Jesus says in John ch 14, if you have seen me, you have seen the Father and following is how he defines SEEING the Father;
14:10 - Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
So what Jesus is saying here is, because the subject is about words, which he homed in on, is that by hearing the words being expressed out by him, it is deemed as seeing the Father = spiritually.
He says elsewhere, those of God hear God and He that is of God has seen God and all they saw and heard was the word of God.
3 - Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
"Brightness" = radiance = light, God is light, Father of AND his Word is light, Jesus had his words without measure, hence he become "a" light into the world John 12:46.
"Glory" = the word of God John 17:20-23. all to become one in word.
"word of his power" = Words that the Father raised him in and gave him, which he expressed out.
The entire 3 Heb verses, and well and truly nailed in 1:3, is about the expressed words of God, hence Jesus by expressing them, became the Express Image of God's PERSON = Word.
You have this -> "
the exact representation of his very being
," = pretty much the same thing, but as God is Word, The Word, the KJV 1:3 is more inline with the whole truth.
Even if you say Jesus is the word, the entire Bible, message, theme, you name it, revolves around expressed words.
The 2nd Adam like the 1st was in the image of God, the image here, "express image" is another context, your in effect expressing out the other person.
