    @tonio

    Re your delusions of 1 John 5:20 = the one referred to as "the true God and eternal life" is the God and Father, you deluded one, YOU are TOTALLY ignoring the lead in verses, that are speaking about the God and Father, Yehowah.
    So, to try and get this clear TRUTH in your head, I will highlight wherever the God and Father is being referenced, in the following.

    We know that whosoever is born of God (Father) sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God (Father) keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
    The God and Father is the subject in the above.
    And we know that we are of God (Father), and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
    He is still the subject.
    And we know that the Son of God (Father) is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true; (The God and Father), in the Son of Him -> (God and Father is still the key topic),Jesus Christ. He (the God and Father) is the true God and life eternal.

    True God eternal life;
    If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God (Father) is greater; for this is the witness of God (Father) which He has testified of His Son.
    He who believes in the Son of God (Father) has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God (Father) has given of His Son.
    And this is the testimony: that God (Father) has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

    "Given us understanding that we may know the God and Father".
    That is well and truly covered by Jesus, in many passages.

    In alignment with the truth of 1 John 5:20 -> John 17:3 This now is the eternal life, that they should know You (Father) the Only True God and whom you have sent, Jesus Christ.

    Jesus here, Unquestionably and independently of himself, defines the Father as the Only True God and there is NO way you can refute this from Jesus's words here.
    Jesus also makes absolutely ZERO mention of needing to know some created holy spirit being or person, to get eternal life.
    He doesn't mention it, as the Holy Spirit (Jesus's Father) is the only true God and Father.

    So Tonio, your delusions led you astray, you totally missed the plot in that the key and predominant subject leading into your quote and including it, is about the God and Father, Yehowah and how his plan for eternal life, was and did come through the Son of Him.

    Jesus ONLY became a begotten God after the cross, exalted and glorified John 1:18, which aligns PERFECTLY with Jesus's very clear words in John 17:3.

    Re John 17:3, it would be safe to include, as well as the only true God, but the TRUE Jesus, who we know is the Son of Him, the 2nd Adam man and not God, or God man or God in the flesh, when he was here.
    The Book of John tells you what it was written for, and it was for none of these creations, mentioned here, which you ignore.
