The bible comes to you from the Catholic Church and its succession of councils.
--------------------
No DBT, the CC was late on the scene. The earliest Catholic Bible was the Latin Vulgate. The scholar Jeromeworked on his Latin translation from the Hebrew from about 390 C.E. to 405 C.E. There were many earlier men who copied the Hebrew Scriptures such as Ezra known as Sopherim. The original documents in the Hebrew and Aramaic languages were recorded by God’s human secretaries, from Moses in 1513 B.C.E. down to shortly after 443 B.C.E.
From Ezra’s time forward, there was an increased demand for copies of the Hebrew Scriptures. Not all the Jews returned to Jerusalem and Palestine in the restoration of 537 B.C.E. and thereafter. Instead, thousands remained in Babylon, while others migrated for business and other reasons, with the result that they were to be found in most of the large commercial centers of the ancient world. Because of the many scattered places of worship, copyists had to multiply the supply of handwritten manuscripts.
(Ezra 7:6) This Ezʹra came up from Babylon. He was a copyist who was well-versed in the Law of Moses, which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. The king granted everything he requested, for the hand of Jehovah his God was upon him.
It would make no sense for Jehovah to inspire men to write the Scriptures and then allow the message to be distorted or lost.
(Isaiah 40:8) The green grass dries up, The blossom withers, But the word of our God endures forever.”
