Yes it really is a interesting topic, I hold a PPL-H and discussion over past year or two has been a lot about the impact of drones on helicopter work. They've even recently mounted a 4k cinema camera on a drone.
For localised small area fast images drones will become the norm. Look at the recent disasters Typhoon Haiyan and Earthquake Nepal, news agencies were using footage provided by drones and they were excellent images.
It's fine to be invested in tech companies but you have to keep your eye on industry developments all the time, I use to be invested in Kodak for years and years thought they would always be around, but dropped them like a hot potato once it was apparent they weren't keeping up with consumer growth in digital or releasing competitive digital cameras to the likes of canon and nikon.
