IMO, any meaning or purpose of life grew out of evolution
Once life has evolved on a habitable planet, then the only purpose/object/goal of that life is to procreate.
Sure, some life gets to the stage where it can rationalize that life should be enjoyed, but this might be abnormal if indeed there are millions of planets in the universe with life or procreating organic matter.
