Again, proper oversight and having bonds in place seems to work well enough in the majority of cases.

Storage of nuclear waste doesn’t particularly concern me. We are a huge, geologically stable land mass, with millions of square kilometres being relatively sparsely populated. If we can’t manage the process here with all those advantages, then where?
