Australia has put ScoMo on the time-out stool.
China has said they have no intention of making the Solomons a military base, but maybe the Solomons have seen more clearly than others the way the world is going.
Australia might draw a lesson from the Solomons. China is a massive trading partner and has no aggressive interest in Australia, but does seem very interested in extending the Belt and Road Initiative, with the prospect of co-prosperity.
NIC is a beneficiary of China's policy, but that's only part of the reason I think Australia has been foolish in its attitude.
