I'm not convinced it's even a political decision. Are these decisions currently being made by sporting bodies, or at the political level? Who are the correct people to make the decisions: Sporting administrators, or parliamentarians? At the international level it would seem to be sporting administrators, because parliamentarians don't have jurisdiction. If it's sporting administrators to what degree are they canvassing the views of potentially adversely affected parties: IE cis female athletes? My view is of no particular import because I'm not an affected party. The view that should hold sway is the majority view of female athletes, either universally, or on a sport by sport basis. What their view should be, isn't for me to say. Were I a female athlete I suspect my view would be that trans athletes should not be allowed at the elite level....but that's hypothetical and of no particular importance because I'm not.
