How can the 2019 plan, with updates in 2000 , 2001 and 2002 be irrelevant when judging how a company is doing to what they say. You are welcome to say it but it is meaningless without some explanation. You have to be forward looking but without understanding the past you are very unlikely to get it right.

without analyzing the past to determine operating characteristics I would be unable to predict future earning and revenue based on to days and near future predictions from others.

This is why you continuously over estimate the impact of things like COP and head of state meetings.
