The Newcastle Herald reports that ALP safe seat candidate and former ACTU secretary Greg Combet has purchased a $940,000 beach-front mansion outside his electorate and quotes him saying:
"My wife simply fell in love with the house, and given the amount of upheaval she's had to go through so that I could pursue my political career, I agreed to buy a house closer to the beach and city."
In other words, don't blame me, blame the wife.
