A spur of the moment April Fools’ Day prank in 2014 against plans to drill near Bentley, for which then 16-year-old Kudra Falla-Ricketts mocked up a Metgasco media release claiming the CSG concern was pulling out of the Northern Rivers region, has seen Falla-Ricketts endorsed as the new Greens candidate for the federal seal of Page.
While Greens only polled 6% in the seat at the last election, which saw Page change hands from the ALP to the National Party, Falla-Ricketts is hoping to capitalise on the strong anti-CSG sentiment in the community.
At the 2015 New South Wales state elections, when Metgasco still held its leases, the Greens came a close second to the Nationals in Lismore, which is part of the Page federal electoral district
