What you need to compare is the cost of bottled LPG in Nimbin with the cost of reticulated natural gas or CSG. It is pretty pointless comparing your cost to the cost of bottled LPG in Queensland. Bottled LPG is only for those people who cannot access natural gas.

Queensland produces very little LPG, and in all likelihood QLD and Nimbin LPG comes from the same place - imported into Sydney and trucked up. So you wouldn't expect there to be much difference in price.

What you really need to be considering is the cost of bottled LPG in Lismore compared to what the same family would pay if they had access to local CSG or even CSG piped in from Queensland - plenty of New South Welshman already gave that luxury - even those living at the Tweed.
