But realistically, Live Bluefin in Japan (and for good Japanese restaurants worldwide) will fetch every cent that live Coral Trout and live Snapper will fetch, $200 - $500 per kg on a regular basis.
It is arguable that caged Bluefin may have a greatly improved mortality rate during transportation also, due to being less stress affected.
When you buy Atlantic Salmon today, is the price different for cage rared or wild ? Tank rared Bara is different, crap.
Regardless of all this, I believe it is a great concept, that will yield great returns.
Remember NZ (Auckland) have been raring and releasing hundreds of thousands of Snapper every year very successfully for the past 20+ years, just to top up their fishery.
