"The fatal weakness of socialism in all its form is that it centralizes power, limits the rights and power of the individual, and this makes it much easier for a small group to seize power, quickly adjust the remaining safe guards to individual rights and poof...you have a chairman for life."
One of the fatal weaknesses of capitalism is that all power resides with a miniscule number of individuals (less than 1% of total population) that owns the means of production and 60% of the wealth of society.
This small group has power, sometimes hiding behind a facade of "democracy" , sometimes ruling directly through dictatorship.
Your looking at the past, the growth of stalinism in the former USSR and claiming that will inevitably occur again should the working class take power.
Needless to say I disagree. The growth of Stalinism and the re-introduction of capitalism into USSR an China, against genuine socialist internationalism was not inevitable previously and is not inevitable in the future.
"I agree with you that the US as the 'world's policeman' is dangerous and the times when the US is in isolation is preferable."
The US has never been "in isolation" since the Spanish American war of 1898.
