Their current aim is to silence the peoples democratic dissent, pure and simple...a governmental mechanism that the majority of the people will be frightened to be called out by whether in the right or in the wrong(stazi by stealth)is the necessary first whistle stop of any socialist regime, second is to dumb the courts down so the people cannot democratically rise up and test their basic rights, third, fourth, fifth is?.....well lets not go there just yet but who would have guessed 4 years or so ago we would be so low as we are now???
