I was referring however to the mass desertions many are expecting within the Iraqi forces.
Nevertheless, the threat remains. I don't think those countries will sit idly by and watch their interests go up in smoke. They have the capacity to respond and respond with a bit more force than the Iraqis will.
Bush has underestimated this. He has finally figured out that others out there have competing interests. A coalition comprising France, Germany, Russia and China would almost certainly cause heavy losses for the US (3 of those nations also have nuclear warheads).
Things are about to get serious. France has already stated it will veto any second resolution whatever form it takes.
