The way I would describe Perkoa Zinc concentrate is:

A basically a clean, higher grade concentratre with no payable precious metals which has a level of Mercury (Hg) and Iron (Fe) that could attract a modest penalty from the receiving smelters depending on two factors:

re Mercury
1. the smelters ability to remove Mercury from its sulphuric acid by-product. the zinc concentrates market supply and demand conditions from time to time.

re Iron
1. the ability to fine tune the Perka concentrator flow sheet to further reduce the level of iron in the final concentratres
2. the zinc concentrates market supply and demand conditions from time to time.

In addition, a further factor that can have a bearing on the custom smelters atitude to these penalties is its overall feed mix. If its total intake of such elements from its feed mix is low, there is a lower probability of a penalty being sought. Penalties, along with treatement charges etc are part of the annual sales terms negotiations for zinc concentrates.

In other respects, the absence of, or minimal levels of such elements as Lead, Copper, Nickel, Cobalt, Cadmium,Thallium, Magnesium, Manganese, Silicon, Arsenic, etc does make Perkoa concentrate more attractive to custom smelters.

Looking at zinc grade in the concentrates, a typical 'standard grade' concentrate has a zinc content in the range 48 - 52%. Once the 52% mark is passed concentrate from say 53% to 56% are regarded as higher grade.

The smelters that we have chosen as our partners have (or will) installed mercury removal circuits, and are attracted by the zinc grade and overall cleanness of our concetrates.
