Note the bland apology. No ABC staffer isnamed and there's no advice as to disciplinary action.

    They certainly took their time.

    Here's our article (michaelsmithnews.com)from 6 June.

Today #THEIRABCreached a new low. How long will they be able to get away with this? This isvery bad. I would even go so far as to say what ABC did here is criminal.

If you can't see the video click here.

The President's actual comment is incapable ofmisinterpretation.

It's also been subject to considerable reportage.

The ABC can't have missed that.

Their broadcast can only be the product of amalicious decision to make Trump look bad.

    Gutter stuff.

This commentary and verbatim transcript of what ThePresident actually said - in context - thanks to National Review.

A number of prominent political reportersmisrepresented comments President Trump made about George Floyd during hisFriday press statement, falsely claiming that the president suggested Floydwould be happy with the May job numbers that had been released hours earlier.

Trump spoke at length about the release of May’sunexpectedly positive job numbers, which showed 2.5 million jobs added and adip in the unemployment rate, calling it “probably . . . the greatest comebackin American history.” He then pivoted to a discussion of the importance ofequality in policing, and it was in this context that he mentioned Floyd, anAfrican American man whose death at the hands of Minneapolis police last weekset off a wave of riots across the country.

“Equal justice under the law must mean that everyAmerican receives equal treatment in every encounter with law enforcementregardless of race, color, gender or creed. They have to receive fair treatmentfrom law enforcement,” Trump said. “We can’t let that happen. HopefullyGeorge is looking down right now and saying, ‘this is a great thing that’shappening for our country.’ This is a great day for him, it’s a great day foreverybody. This is a great day for everybody, this is a great, great day interms of equality.”

While some reporters quoted Trump’s commentsverbatim, others immediately castTrump’sreference to Floyd as part of his celebration of the positive economic outlook, rather than as a suggestion that Floyd would be pleased with the country’sfocus on progress toward a more equitable law enforcement environment.
