I completely agree with you Curious. The GFC had bugger all to do with it. And emphasis on "meandering".
What the company is saying is good ... but if you were to ask "Why is this company THE CHEAPEST GOLD PRODUCER ON THE ASX (from analysis of Mkt Cap/IGV (In Ground Value of Resource) and Market Cap to current production)?" ... what would the answers be? and would the company listen to the answers?
Some parts of the answer might be:- - no announced budget (although there must be one as the Bourse report alluded) - no announced or target cost of production. - the last resource statement was buried in the middle of an 80 page report, so most (all?) commentators missed it. - the last resource statement has not been updated with new resource. - no senior manager has a proven track record of senior gold mine management. - the board shows no interest (beyond minor lip service) on fulfilling the requirement to have market cap match company value. - still not paid some old bills. - paying senior staff with these undervalued shares.
... I could go on ...
All easily fixed ... but they just never fix it.
