For many this announcment is a great selling opportunity. Its been quite a while since sellers have had the opportunity to sell in the 40's
At this rate they will get flushed out soon enough.
Looks like normal market forces at work if you ask me.

People sell for various reasons, new house, car, tax bill etc. They may know they are missing out but need or want to sell anyway

If you try to cap or prop the market will chew you up and spit you out.
On a day with 10M Shares traded anybody trying to prop or cap would have done their dough.

AGS must now look attractive to the fund managers.
