It's been a looooooooooooong day here, with results from a couple of other investments to process.
A couple of points: firstly, a 1% move is around 2m shares. I wouldn't have thought it would take much more than 10% of average daily volume to have a significant impact on the price (if done in the right way ;0)). That's currently just 80,000 shares or so.
Secondly, I dunno how Aussie markets operate, but here in the UK, I know that index trackers tend to pre-empt index entries & exits and start buying or selling when it becomes clear that a stock is going to enter or leave an index, not when the actual change happens.
