I agree with you both. Relapse after 4 years is disappointing but in a disease that has proved so hard to crack - this is four years of 'improved health' they may not have had otherwise.
That said, I believe Hercules is on the money - "disruption of metals homeostasis in the brain" is the likely key IMO.
Is someone working on that path ? ... oh yes, a little Aussie company ...
