It's incumbent upon those who think the system is headed for catastrophe to qualify and quantify the effects - positive and negative - and then determine the net effect and weigh up our ability to manage what eventuates.

Unless one has been watching too many horror movies (under the specialised genre of climate science fiction) there shouldn't be too much cause for concern.
