    BlueIce, i've been told that the main reason that BHP is so cheap and not valued on current commodity prices is due to the belief that the current prices cannot be sustained long term so it would be silly to base its valuation on current commodity prices.

    personally i don't really go along with that idea. but like it or not, the stock market is a forward looking mechanism and looks into the future through the lenses of 'expectations' .. and those expectations are derived from a myriad or sources which can change on a daily basis ... even multiple times per day.

    i'm currently out of BHP again, waiting for a pullback which i expect most world markets to be affected by.
