Once there are a few blackouts or two, or nationwide conservation put in place, I think you will find the tune of the greenies beginning to change quite quickly. Bathurst will be supplying local coal for years to come, there is no two ways about that. The govt will not regulate to stop it. Well they may, but that decision will have to be reversed quick pronto once the first mini-crisis hits. If Fonterra went on the grid, I think NZ could struggle as a country with supply.
