1) Not everyone plans to get immunized. Even a few on this forum are antivaxers. 2) The virus is mutating faster than the vaccines are keeping up. And some of the new varieties are deadlier. 3) Australian's are becoming complacent because we have not had the virus running wild like in many other countries.
IMO we do need to have some more international travel and that means building long term quarantine facilities that are effective and cheap for people to quarantine in. Construction should be well outside of urban areas and set up so that minimal staffing is required. In other words those confined should be able to look after themselves like people living in caravan parks. IMO the world has changed and it's not going back to how it was anytime soon.
