it is along long way until the next election (in the absence of the extraordinary happening). A day is along time in politics.
In my view the Labor government has does a reasonable job viz a viz the GFC and the comparative health of the Australian economy - look at Europe and the USA. Mr. Abbott, you must agree is on the negative and he will only be able to get away with this for so long and then the reaction will be reflected in the polls.
I know that you and many others in here intensely dislike the government's carbon tax but the current wider attitude to it will change when the tax cuts and household compensation comes in. Then the scaremongering of Abbott will be revealed for what it is. This will reinforce what many believe of the Liberals. that they are great on criticism but not much on construction.
The time factor may well be the reason for the Liberals impatience to bring things to a head earlier rather than later.

trader, politics does not work like this mate. If the electorate wants to take revenge on the independents then they get the chance at the next election.
