You have just shown us how true that statement is. If, as you greens insist, it was dying there would be plenty of cheap coal and no takers. The reverse is true, there is such a demand for export coal that the price threatens the viability of generating assets the gov is wishing to sell. So as a package they bundle up the state owned power stations and some assured supply of state owned coal and sell THAT. The state gets some desperately needed money in their coffers and the consumer gets reliable power at a reasonable price. I can't see where anyone has been GIVEN anything.
No government can afford to have it's power supplies put at risk.
