    Couldn't agree more - there is already a deficit in terms of what is consumed and what is mined. That gap is filled by moving U from inventories of one type or another, weapons being the major source. The change in the Russian deal means that the US demand will no longer be approximately 50% supplied from those inventories. Therefore must come from mined output.

    If you want an answer to the question regarding what is going to happen examine the actions of the industry players and the SoEs from China etc. Since Fukushinma they have been buying up (at top dollar compared to equivalent market valuations) the highest grade deposits they can source in stable, democratic, commercially minded countries where mining is accepted - such as Canada, Namibia and Australia - probably in that order.
