Most households have a mortgage and are ahead for having taken on the debt as they have a roof over their heads and the security of having and eventually owning their own home that will increase in value over time, an investment in their future and stability if you will. So debt is not all bad.

You need to take a closer look at what the Labor and Liberal spends or cuts were made on and if those spends or cuts were detrimental in the longer term or not. I believe you'll find the Liberals have been a horror story and continue to be.
