the US have already officially stated that they wanted to take Iraq, whether or not saddam was there.This has been there objective and Saddam is not the end game. Rumsfelds' shot re 'old europe' has opened thinly healed wounds putting pressure on regional alliances esp russia with the recently liberated baltic states leaving it vulnerable. If you put yourself in the EUs shoes you could see that the US with Israel are the aggressors and destabilisers. The anticipation that Saddam will be routed already has Kurds fighting Kurds along the border of iraq with Turkey eyeing off north iraq. Syria has some 250,000 kurds and then it goes up towards Russia.
