I agree re the fact that there very well be a bigger plan - ala our Pax Amricana thread of a few weeks ago.
My debate with FG is along the lines of the WMD and whether the US will reveal them...
As for the EU....I saw last nite a bit with CPowell saying he has a a "coalition of the willing" and surprisingly, these included Spain, Italy and most of the old East Bloc countries.
It is indeed a strange time full of alliegances, deals, tete-a-tete's and good ol' horse-trading
