    re: big fear - churchill the eloquent coward Not surprising that the US and UK have the means to defeat a country of 22 million people whose ordnance and communications has been already softened up by a war, embargoes and selective air raids. That would be similar to UK and US chances against Australia.

    Further than removal of the present regime in Iraq is the replacement by a compliant new regime and heading off the French and Russians from the oil, but will it backfire?

    I'm glad you mentioned Europe and tried to state your point at the end, because what we are seeing is the beginnings of a change in world power - through stupidity the US is surrendering economic power to Europe in a similar way to the British surrendered economic power to the US after WW2. Iraq will start the dominoes turning against the US and UK (and us).
