Looking good in northern NSW, even just a bit too wet on the Liverpool plains.
Hey YC, what's your take on carbon trading and agriculture? I can see how we can pump a heap of carbon into our soil, by planting heaps of legume pastures, or trees on the better drained land, but it's going to reduce production. Seems we can't have both, but maybe I'm not thinking straight.
I can see us being payed for carbon sequestration, so I will go and plant a heap of lucerne and put out my hand. I can see nitrogen fertilizer going up heaps due to carbon trading, so even more incentive to go pasture.
if farmers everywhere do this, food production is going to plummit.
What's the go? too hard for me to work out. Is it good or bad? I think it will be a disaster for Australia's economy. I think it's going to be a tax on exporters.
