    Time will tell mate.
This time last year Aussie farmers & wine makers did not foresee being blocked out from the Chinese market despite our Aus-China FTA.
Given BHP, RIO & FML dependance on China, I guess they dont share your Anti-China bias...eh?
If you despise China that much, then why do you not advocate an Aussie ban on supplying China with Iron Ore similar to what happened in the 30's with Japan?

In June China fired a warning shot across the bows of Aussie Iron ore exporters by altering spot checks on imported Iron ore from Aus but exempting the Brazilians. Just wait for the second shoe to drop...eh?

China found loopholes in our barley (weed & Gov Subsidies) beef (mislabeling and residual chemicals) and who knows what in wine, so, IMO,
they will find contaminants in the iron ore to either block imports and/or force the price down. Again, IMO, that's why this new regime is giving Brazil a penalty kick!

If you look at the details of the US/China Trade deal cut in January, you will find that it is going to Trump's plan:
-sell China more US beef, barley, wine, coal & LNG ( all Aussie exports to China) at higher than world market prices thereby nudging Australian suppliers out of the China market.

At present China is pouring hundreds of billions into Africa to replace our Iron ore & met coal exports.
It took our WA mines 3 years to lift production via Chinese investment to meet China's infrastructure programs to counter Wall St's GFC.

Like the USA, China trade relations are a mix of ideology & economics and our mugs are incapable benefiting from this.
