i'm a customer and shareholder (was with statewest, they demutualised so ended up with home bldg soc acct and shares instead of statewest, now i got BOQ acct and shares). i didn't have any probs in the switch- didn't much like that it was foisted on me, bit like doing all the crud of changing bank accounts but someone else made that choice for me.

yep, agree it is dumb to pay a big premium to grab local outfits then destroy their goodwill. i won't be buying any more BOQ, too expensive (to be that expensive they surely must be holding themselves out as better than other banks but this Home Bldg Soc changeover shows they are as bad or worse)

the bit i'm mainly pieved at is i pay about half of what i get in div's from BOQ to them in bank fees, but i guess folks are gonna get bank fees no matter who they are with..
