    This result proved one thing-

Labor/Greens/NXT categorically out performed the Libs on the election trail.
They won seats in Western Sydney on the basis in part on the appeal of the negative gearing changes and potential on housing affordability.
They won seats in Qld due to the inept performances from such talent as Wyatt Roy and Dutton went close to loosing as well, which says alot about his appeal in the electorate.
They lost a seat to NXT on the basis of not knowing how to appeal to the local vote and protect SA jobs, and could loose a second to NXT.
And they even could loose a seat to the Greens in Victoria, who usually only get traction in Labor seats, but this could change.
There is a move of the electorate towards the left.It appears that Shortens increased deficits couldn't even scare people. It appears that the electorate want better education, health services and internet and are willing to go into deficit to make it happen. Sometimes strict austerity is not the way.
And yes they took privatisation of the Medicare payment system and successfully extrapolated it into a fear of a potential wholesale sell off, but the Libs let the initial cat out of the bag, so to speak.
The libs failed to use the security card to its maximum which had been a winner in the past and I am sure Tony would have flogged that to death. They also failed to sell their current good economic management, partly because they had previously set the electorate into doom and gloom mode and could not now explain that the economy is one of the best performing in the world. How could they potentially be in minority government. Total stuff up and a boring jobs and growth mantra that lacked depth and appeal.
