It is silly that Wesfarmers' share price is down because of Sigma's new "raid" on API.
All Wesfarmers need to do from here is hold on to its 19.99% stake in API, proceed with the scheme of arrangement if desired, open the scheme offer to API shareholders, and see how many API shareholders accept the cash offer.
Chances are Wesfarmers will end up owning 60-85% of API upon completion - maybe even over 90%. Whatever the final figure is, it will effectively result in a controlling stake.
