The initial report said:
"The well did not encounter gas or other hydrocarbons in the Great White or Marlin target intervals, however wireline logging will be run through this section for verification."

They did announce that wireline logging was still pending. The next announcement simply confirms that they discovered potential for hydrocarbons (ie a reservoir structure) at one of the target depths. It also states that further seismic data would need to be collected (I'd imagine tests are being carried out right now). The additional data will indicate whether or not the resevoir may hold gas. Furthermore the secondary objective of the well is to assess the Triassic layer to determine its nature and age (in order to gain a more detailed understanding of the area).

These are all the facts that we have. All we can do now is wait for the next announcement, which will be "regarding the results of logging". This will tell us if they have assessed the reservoir region to contain gas or not. If not, they will still drill to TD and the current results are extremely positive in the long term outlook for the project.
