There was a breath of fresh air about the telco market in this Saturday's Australian...The coalition of carriers wants to have a universal fibre to the node....with all parties paying for one system.
This would avoid all the money shredding that occurred last time when Optus first put up all the cables on the telegraph poles...Then Telstra...hardly a leader into new frontiers.. followed 200 mm lower.
An eyesaw was foisted upon us all and between them both I think $3 billion dollars were shredded.Ultimately all Australians have to pay the bill of these misconcieved decisions as the prime players incorporate the costs into their charge structures..
I will be interested to hear how pontydexter got on with PWT...and yes I have also heard that they are on the radar screen.
