I'm not sure what data sets you are using to come to this conclusion , but your claim is not backed up by data provided by the Australian Institute of Criminology (up to 2013, last modified 2016).
Victims of violent crime (rate per 100,000) According to the data presented, none of the violent crimes are at "unprecedented levels".
Victims of property crimes (per 100,000) Also not at "unprecedented levels".
I'm not sure what data sets you are using to come to this...
