It's a while since I was in Melbourne CBD, but the last time it just seemed like it was 40 years ago, except for for a few extra faces that weren't the same as mine, White Anglo.

Driving a luxury car - sorry, never had that luxury, but I've been driving in Sydney for years (though I now live well out) and have never felt any serious threats.
Pubic hospitals - I didn't mention that in my response. But I agree that the Australian health system, although being one of the best in the world, is not perfect.
