Believe the evidence, or as in this case the lack of evidence, put simply, Trump made a claim without any evidence to support his claim, In other words, Trump spruiked made up BS.

Trump and his Trumpies have had more than a week to put up any evidence to support Trump's claim that Haitians in Springfield are stealing their neighbours cats and dogs to eat.

Maybe it is the Trumps in Mar-A-Lago who are stealing their neighbours cats and dogs to eat, there is just as much evidence of that as there is for Trump's claim about the Haitians in Springfield.
